Florida Institute of Technology - High Tech with a Human Touch

Retirement

June 17, 2015

I'm writing to let you know that I will retire as President and CEO of Florida Institute of Technology next year. My retirement will become effective June 30, 2016. After 25 years as a university President, here and previously at Florida Atlantic University, I'm looking forward to a new phase in my life.

It's been my privilege to serve this university these past 13 years. I've always believed in the opportunity created through the hard work of higher education. Florida Tech has been a model of this, always focusing on student success and empowering thousands of alumni to move on and change their world, and ours, for the better.

Over the next year, I'll be collaborating closely with the Board of Trustees on a leadership transition plan. And, after my retirement as President, I look forward to continuing my service to the university as a member of the faculty—and as a proud Panther, always.

Sara and I look forward to the work of the coming year and the exciting times ahead. I will perform all of the rights and responsibilities of the chief executive officer until June 30, 2016.

Thank you for your continued support of Florida Tech.

Sincerely,

A.J. Catanese, Ph.D., FAICP
President & CEO
